Pet Dentistry at PAWSH

Give Your Pets Better Dental Health

Pets require routine dental care, and it is an essential component of a happy and healthy life. Whether it’s a regular dental appointment or oral surgery, we’re here to bring peace of mind that your pet has the best dental health.

At Premier Animal Wellness & Surgery Hospital, Dr. Adrienne Price has the experience and knowledge to care for your beloved pet’s dental needs properly. With our help, you can rest assured that your pet can live comfortably without dental pain.

Dental Cleanings for PAWSH Pets

Routine assessments and dental cleanings are the best way to prevent the need for tooth extractions and oral surgery for your pet.

To properly examine their teeth and keep them calm and relaxed during the cleaning, we administer general anesthesia. Our veterinary team recommends bloodwork to ensure anesthesia is safe for your pet before putting them under.

Once your pet is under anesthesia, we perform a detailed examination of your pet’s teeth and gums to be sure they are healthy. We then scale and polish their teeth to get them clean and promote healthy oral hygiene for years to come!

Oral Surgery for Pets

If we find significant problems during the pet dental exam process, we often perform tooth extractions simultaneously. This process minimizes your pet’s time under general anesthesia and helps us manage their dental health more effectively.

In the case of pet dental emergencies, PAWSH also performs in-house surgical procedures to remove oral masses or treat tooth root abscesses if necessary. Our team will take dental X-rays to diagnose and properly repair oral conditions.

What to do for Your Pet

For your pet’s dental health, the best thing you can do is pay attention to warning signs and bring them in for regular dental exams. A few concerning issues are:

  • Bad breath
  • Broken teeth
  • Pain and swelling around the mouth
  • Refusal to eat
  • Plaque and tartar buildup
  • Bleeding from the mouth

You can also take preventive measures to better protect your pet’s dental health, like teeth brushing at home. We recommend brushing your pet’s teeth once to twice a week with pet-approved toothpaste.
